The benefits of flowers in the workplace
Now, obviously we are a tad biased when it comes to flowers, and being around flowers almost constantly is something that we would be reluctant to change for ourselves. However it seems that it is not just us, as research studies have shown that there are genuine benefits to having flower arrangements in your workplace, both for the employee and the employer.
At Blue, we deliver fresh flower arrangements to businesses every week, and the feedback we get is wonderful. A welcome splash of colour and life to the sometimes drab office environment can make a real difference for a number of reasons, with research indicating that flowers can have a significant impact on our mood, creativity and productivity. The increases in these areas then inevitably lead to positive impacts on our overall well being and health.
Evidence suggests that flowers and greenery can have significant effects on our creativity, with both men and women not only demonstrating more innovative thinking, but generating more ideas and creative solutions to problems when working in an office environment that included plants and flowers.
It may not come as a shock to you to hear that looking at flowers can make us happier, and evidence has shown that flowers can help reduce stress at work, lower blood pressure, and even reduce absenteeism. There is also evidence to suggest an increase in productivity as a result of these benefits of having flowers around you while you work.
Not only will flowers boost our mood, but they are also a great asset to the actual office environment, improving air quality by removing toxins while also increasing the amount of moisture in the air.
If this isn’t enough to convince you to place a weekly order, just have a follow of our Instagram and Facebook to see what we can do, and we are sure you will want a little bit of Blue wonderment in your workplace!

Say hello to Thought…
It has arrived! The new collection from Thought, the recently re-branded Braintree, has landed in our store.
Jan and Alice recently went to visit the lovely people of Thought on their stand at the huge International Gift Fair at the NEC, and suffice to say, they were beyond impressed. Every item really has been “Thought” about, with colours, shapes, and fabrics which will make you want to fill your wardrobe with the entire range.
So, who are Thought, and why are they such a beautiful brand?
Their story starts when friends David and John wanted to wear “natural, cool clothing” in the heat of Australia in 1995. They started with a capsule collection of men’s shirts and beachwear made of sustainable ramie and hemp. In 2002, John brought the brand to England, opening pop-up shops in Portobello Road and Camden Lock Market. Their hard work soon meant that independent boutiques wanted to stock the growing collection.
By 2005, the brand had their own website, office, and a warehouse, as well as starting a women’s collection too (lucky us!). Rachel now heads up the design team, a team that “shares the same vision: that contemporary fashion and sustainability go hand-in-hand.”
Thought clothing is effortless, beautifully crafted, and made sustainably. A brand with items to covet and love. We are very excited to welcome the range, and welcome you all to come along and find your perfect match!
Stay tuned for news on our Open event in mid March, where you can come along and try all of our new ranges and pick yourself up some goodie bags!
